Spiritual Care from Your Community

Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas’ Chaplains have always initiated contact with congregations to make clergy aware of the admission of a member of their spiritual community as an inpatient, at the patient’s request. At the time of admission, a consent form is given to the patient to give the chaplains instructions about the notification of that patient’s faith group and clergy.

The chaplains of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas proactively promote the pastoral ministry of the local congregation and its ministry to our patients. They will continue to notify a patient’s personal clergy based upon the authorization of the patient and the patient’s surrogate decision maker.
