Adult Psychiatric Services
The Behavioral Health Center offers help to adults who display a wide range of psychiatric, emotional and/or behavioral problems including depression, psychosis, bipolar disorder, post traumatic stress disorder and schizophrenia.
The adult program is staffed by a team of professionals selected for their expertise in the treatment of psychiatric problems. The team consists of a psychiatrist, psychotherapists, licensed registered nurses, social workers, psychiatric technicians and activity therapists who review patient goals and progress on an ongoing basis. Family members/significant others are encouraged to participate in treatment with the patient.
Our goal is to provide adult patients with appropriate assessment, treatment and discharge planning in a secure, pleasant, and supportive environment. Treatment at the Behavioral Health Center features

Baptist's Tranquility Outpatient offers two levels of care in a highly structured treatment environment that is predicated on personal responsibility, individual dignity and self-esteem.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is available for those adults who require maximum support and therapy and who would other receive inpatient treatment. Intensive Outpatient is designed for adults who are stable, but still require group therapy. PHP runs Monday through Friday from 9:00am until 2:30pm. The Intensive Outpatient Program operates within the framework of PHP, however, the days of attendance are negotiated with the patient to best meet their individual needs.
Treatment methods in the program may include as needed:
- Comprehensive psychiatric assessment and treatment services
- Individual and group psychotherapy
- Family therapy
- Cognitive behavioral therapy
- Medication management and monitoring
- Specialized nursing
- Coordination with community and health services for improved wellness
- Educational services
- Comprehensive discharge planning
Patients are provided individualized treatment within a team framework. Members of the treatment team include the patient, psychiatrist, nurses, therapists and counselors. Our team of professionals work closely with patients to help maintain the patient's progress and ensure safety after discharge. Lunch and snacks are provided for patients free of charge.
Transportation to and from the program is available for those patients living within a 25 mile radius of Baptist Beaumont Hospital.

Intensive Outpatient Program - Chemical Dependency
Baptist Behavioral Health Center’s Intensive Outpatient Program is a 6-week program that provides comprehensive treatment for individuals experiencing abuse or dependency to drugs and/or alcohol. The Intensive Outpatient Program enables clients to seek treatment for addiction while continuing to work and take care of their family.
Treatment consists of three-hour group therapy and educational sessions, held three times weekly. Sessions are convenient and take place in the evening between 6pm – 9pm.
