Procedures Performed at Baptist Orange Hospital

Providing many surgical and endoscopy services here locally gives our community many advantages. It gives us an opportunity to serve our community well, provide excellent service and care, it’s convenient for the patient, and supports our doctors and surgeons.

Orthopedic Surgery
Some procedures the community may not realize this facility is capable of providing are:  repair and replacement of total joints such as hips, knees, shoulders.  Stephen Hall Orthopedics

General Surgery
General surgeries include colon resections, breast biopsies, thyroidectomies, mastectomies with sentinel node detection.  The sentinel node detection allows the physician to test for the potential for spread of the cancer into the lymph nodes.

You may have heard of sinuplasty surgery or sinus surgery that is done through a scope with a dilating catheter inserted into the sinuses to open the sinus cavities.  This is done instead of the manual resection of tissues, which allows patients to have less blood loss, less invasive, and no nasal packing.

Anesthesia Services
Anesthesia providers also provide services for our Gastroenterology Endoscopy patients to help ensure an atraumatic experience with EGD and colonoscopy procedures. These endoscopy services are for patients having procedures to diagnose or treat gastric or colon problems.  Our GI services also include, for patients that are candidates, treatment for hital hernia repair through the gastroscope rather than an open incision or laparoscopic procedure.

After the surgical or endoscopy procedure the patients require recovery from anesthesia.  Patients are taken to the recovery room until they are awake and meet the recovery room requirements for discharge either to in house patient room or back to the day surgery unit.  The anesthesia providers are available to our 5 key departments at all times if needed for support.
